2012 Victim’s Crime Awareness Week 
The Coral Gables Police Department Honored Vilma Castro for the “Courage Award” for the community services done in memory of her beloved daughter, Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba.

Assistant State Attorneys- Rachel Walters and Deisy Hernandez (Jaclyns attorneys who defended her case) were awarded for the work, commitment, and dedication for Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba’s case. They were able to send Jaclyn’s murderer to jail for Life without Parole – 1st degree murder.

Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba was recognized on June 14th, 2010 and honored by naming designating SW 30th Street from 132nd Avenue to SW 134th Avenue in Miami as JACLYN ELISSE TORREALBA STREET
